Full Circle

Last weekend, I met up with my friend to take her son and daughter's annual pictures again.  Her son was my first practice session when I started this venture a little over a year ago!  I can't believe it's been a year already, but then that's why I do this...to capture those fleeting moments that pass by all too quickly.

Although I'm fairly sure that boys stay enamored with rocks for years, it's still fun to remember just how much entertainment a little piece of earth can bring.  Here, he's trying to grab the rock mom has just hidden amongst the flowers for him :)

A girl's love affair with flowers, however, never ends!  Dandelion wishes will one day bring thoughts of weeding all day, but for now they're pure joy and fun to hunt down every last one.  Enjoy the preview and have a wonderful and safe trip!

Chubby Cheeks!

>> Friday, January 22, 2010

This is my nephew...and I want to BITE his adorably chubby cheeks!  He has the exact same cheeks my little sister had when she was young, which I probably did bite, but for different reasons.  At any rate, her precious son is oh so photogenic and will give you about 20 different expressions in a 30 second span of time.

My husband and I have a picture like this with our first daughter.  My mom loves it so much that she insisted I try to get one with my sister's family as well.  I love that he looks so happy that he is being loved on by both his Mama & Daddy!

I love a good nuzzle in the neck and it looks like Kristen is enjoying her sweet baby boy too.

It's pretty clear this one's going to be a heartbreaker.  Those big blue eyes have already melted quite a few hearts!

One more below, because it's always a joy to take pictures, but such a privilege to take them for my family!

Early Birds

This couple was a lot of fun! I'm thinking about trading pictures for dancing lessons ;-)

It's amazing to me that anyone could have a family of four out the door and ready for pictures at 8 am but whether for playdates or pictures, E is always on time.

I love the picture above and think it will probably be my favorite out of the set. It was completely spontaneous that C spun her around on the lawn and it made for a perfect picture! I think it must be his alma mater...Clemson turns out only the best!

Sweet Sisters

I met with M & K at the park a few days ago. They were really sweet and I adore these precious curls!

M warmed up after a few minutes and seemed excited to get to run around the park with me by herself while Mom hung out with her little sister. She raced me to each location yelling RUN, RUN, RUN!

The little one was a Mama's girl for sure! I just love a barefoot baby and this one was too cute crawling to me (or Mom, who had a Ritz cracker for her--maybe that's why she's licking her lips ;)

Thanks, Anne, it was a lot fun chasing your beautiful girls around the park!

Party of 5

>> Saturday, October 24, 2009

I met with a beautiful family of 5 this morning at a local museum. It was a little chilly when we started off but it warmed up and turned into a gorgeous day!

This is such a great place, there is a terrific backdrop everywhere you turn.

Their oldest is a junior in high school and was completely comfortable with the camera! I wore nothing but clear mascara until I was out of college so I'm a tad jealous looking at her perfectly applied eyeliner...something I've yet to master. I'm amazed at how put together and confident 16 year olds are these days.

The younger girl was the perfect assistant and yelled BANANAS! while I took pictures of her sister. If she didn't live so far away, I might consider hiring her. She couldn't wait for her turn and was more than happy to smile for the camera.

The little guy was another story...he wanted to PLAY! Luckily, I'm always up for a game of peek a boo and as it turned out, he was too!

HeartBREAKER!

>> Thursday, October 22, 2009

I may be biased, but oh my gosh she's beautiful! My oldest little masterpiece and I took off tonight to take her 5 year pictures. 5 YEARS! I can't believe my sweet baby is five, and oh so grown up! She had school pictures last week so she said she knew exactly what to do...a great big grin and she'd yell, "mashed potatoes!". That'll work ;)

For her birthday, everything was all about Fancy Nancy. Since Nancy says all things French are fancy, what else but a beret to top off her ensemble?? Tres chic!

Considering that she's mine and constantly has a camera in her face...usually met with "No more picturin'!" she was incredibly cooperative. I can neither confirm nor deny that there might have been a cookie involved in making that happen.

Ainsley loves the fun floppy flower on her little sister's hat and I think it made for very cute pictures!

I'm a Big Girl Now!

>> Friday, October 9, 2009

I met H when she was only 5 months old. She's one of my kids' favorite playmates and as such I have pictures from all stages of her life, just as I do my own kids. It was really fun to get to take her 3 year pictures! She's growing into such a little lady and I enjoyed following her around the gardens capturing that still baby fine hair and her big blue eyes. Her little brother was my first official practice session (his first year pictures) so it was neat to follow up with big sister several months later.

She'd never been here before, so the fish and turtles in the pond really piqued her interest and everything she saw was new and neat for her.

She wasn't the least bit tentative about walking around in her bare feet and was incredibly compliant any time I asked her to hop up on a rock or sit near *gasp* dirt :)

I look forward to finishing this session and seeing how the rest of them turned out!
